I just have a quick and cute little story to share this morning before I start my day. Yesterday was Tuesday, and my schedule at my school this year is requiring lots of my energy on these days. I teach 4 classes of 2nd grade and 2 classes of 3rd grade. At the end of it all, I feel like I just performed in the circus. But on this particular day, my co-teacher and I had the 2nd grade students draw their family members and label them "MOM, DAD, BROTHER, SISTER, etc..." The handout we gave them had a tree with 5 apples in which they were to draw the faces of their family members and themselves. If they didn't have 5 members to draw, they could draw their best friend or family friend or even their pet. Afterwards, they all went around introducing their family members to the class by saying, "This is my ____." When it came time for this one little girl to introduce her apples, she got to the last one (who had blond hair, unlike the rest of her apples) and said, "This is my Laura." I thought that was sooooo cute and I gave her a little hug. How precious. Those moments make my crazy and exhausting days at this school at least a little meritorious, if only for a slight moment.

Have a great day.
